Case Profiles #16

Kristopher Lewis

February 4th of 2013 is easily considered the worst day of Nina Cancel’s life. Her 13-year-old son, Kristopher Lewis, disappeared after getting off his school bus in the Dorchester neighborhood of Boston, Massachusetts. Always home at the same time, and diligent with checking in with his mother, Kristopher was reported missing by Nina as soon as she knew something was wrong. Due to a potential incident that occurred, however disputed by his mother, Kristopher had run away before and thus was chalked up by police to be a runaway. Nina does not believe this to be the case and is still fighting for her son’s return to this day. If you have any information regarding the disappearance of Kristopher Bryan Lewis, please contact the Boston Police Department at (617) 343-4687.

Diedra Dancy

On June 10th, 1990 in South Windsor Connecticut, a group of fisherman were walking down a dirt utility road off of Pierce Road when they came across the body of a young woman wrapped in a shower curtain. The woman was determined to be 19-year-old Diedra “Dee Dee” Dancy from Hartford, Connecticut, and she had been missing for less than 48 hours. Diedra had also been stabbed several times. In the late 80’s and early 90’s there were a series of murders that were very similar to Diedra’s, and all of the women were abducted, murdered and then dumped in a different location. A man named Alfred Swinton was convicted on one of the murders based on bite mark analysis, however after 18 years of imprisonment Alfred was exonerated by the Innocence Project in 2018. No other arrests have ever been made in Diedra’s murder and the case has grown cold. Anyone with any information on the murder of Diedra Dancy is asked to please call the Connecticut cold case hotline at (866) 623-8058.
