Case Profiles #48

Celia DeJesus

Celia DeJesus was a mother of two from the Lawrence and Boston, Massachusetts area. She was described as being helpful and sweet, and unfortunately found herself in a downward spiral of addiction to cocaine, pills, and heroin. In 2018, Celia started to spend a lot of time on Methadone Mile, an area in Boston that attracts homeless people and those struggling with addiction. Celia last made contact with her family in 2019, and it is unsure if she is dead or alive. Her boyfriend claims she died of a drug overdose in 2020, but there are no records to prove this. To this day, Celia has not been found. If you have any information about the disappearance of Celia DeJesus, please contact Boston Police Crime Stoppers at 1-800-494-TIPS.

Latasha Beebe Cannon

On March 27th, 2001, 17-year-old Latasha Beebe Cannon had run away from the group home she was staying at. She was last seen in Chinatown getting into someone's car at around 1:00am, and phone records indicate she had placed a call out of Bedford at 4:00am. Three weeks later in April, her body was found in a marshy area behind the Raytheon plant in Bedford. A worker at the plant was outside walking on his lunch break when he came across her body. Latasha was partially clothed and she had multiple slash marks on her neck and throat. The group home, which was run by the Department of Social Services, failed to report her missing and failed to recognize that she was being exploited for sex work. Latisha Beebe, Latasha’s cousin who was also at the group home at the time she went missing, described Latasha as funny, beautiful and really kind. She has a t-shirt that she and her cousin made together that she still has and cherishes. Anyone with any information on the murder of Latasha Beebe Cannon is asked to please call the tip line for the State Police working with the Middlesex DA’s office at 781-987-6600
