Case Profiles #59

Angel Garcia

19-year-old Angel Garcia was living in Hartford, Connecticut with his mother Laura Suazo and his girlfriend, Omayra Serrano. Omarya had a 2-year-old son that Angel adored, and living with his girlfriend and her son caused him to develop a love of cooking meals for them and his mom. In September of 2011, Angel got a red Honda dirt bike that became his pride and joy. He would ride it often, going throughout Hartford and along some trails in east Hartford. Angel was last seen on October 21st, 2011. He was out riding his dirt bike with his friend Joel at Joel’s uncles house as it had a big field behind it. After this, Angel rode off in the direction of Newfield Avenue in Hartford, Connecticut at around 1:00 p.m. He was reported missing the next day at 6:00 p.m. When questioned by police, Joel shared that the way to get to the trails in east Hartford is to ride along a busy highway or over a train trestle, which was the more dangerous but more commonly used option. Police speculated that maybe Angel was driving over the bridge and lost control of his bike and then fell into the river. Angel’s friend Josh also came forward to police about an incident on October 20th, where a tan Jeep Cherokee had chased them and asked about Angel after he rode his bike into a field. Further investigation revealed that Angel had stolen the bike after seeing it on Craigslist, but police feel the original owners are not suspicious in his disappearance. Angel was 19-years-old at the time of his disappearance and is a Hispanic male with brown hair and eyes. He was 5’8” and 180lbs. He was last seen wearing a gray hoodie, blue jeans, and black sneakers with a red design on them and riding a red Honda brand dirt bike with “Geico” logo stickers on the sides. Angel also has a pierced ear. Anyone with any information on the disappearance of Angel Garcia is asked to call the Hartford Police Department at either (860) 757-4000(860) 757-4242 or (860) 757-4236. You can also leave an anonymous tip with the Hartford Police Department at 860-722-tips (8477).
