Case Profiles #24

Travis Monroe

On October 1st, 2006, 17-year-old Travis Monroe was found dead on the corner of the street in Worcester, Massachusetts. He had injuries to his face and body, as well as road rash on his back. Investigators believe he was a victim of a hit-and-run, but the medical examiner ultimately concluded that his death could not be 100% confirmed as that, and his death was listed as undetermined. His loved ones believe he was beaten and killed. Anyone with information is asked to please call the Detective Bureau at (508) 799-8651 or the Traffic Division at (508) 799-8674.

Carrie Lee Mock

36-year-old Carrie Mock, nicknamed “Kat”, was known as a lovely person and a dedicated mom to her 12-year-old daughter Josephine. On July 19th, 1981, Carrie’s family began to worry when she wasn’t answering her landline at her home on Fairfield Avenue on the West Side of Stamford, Connecticut. Investigation revealed that Carrie was last seen by one of her sisters the night before at a club on Richmond Hill in Stamford. Just hours after she was reported missing, Carrie’s body was found by three young boys near the school grounds of the Brunswick School’s Maher property in Greenwich. She had been strangled and stabbed multiple times in the neck, and it seemed that her body had been dragged into the woods where she was found. Carrie was part of the original Connecticut cold case deck of cards and she is the eight of hearts. Her case is still cold but it has recently been opened for reexamination. Anyone with any information on the murder of Carrie Lee Mock is asked to contact the Greenwich Police Department tip line at (203) 622-3333 or (800) 372-1176.
